LVR Secondary and Hume Elementary Annual Collaboration

On December 4th, two Hume classes made their way up to a Senior Biology class at LVR Secondary School. Mrs. Keenan’s class of grade ½’s and Mrs. Mushumanski’s class of grade ¾’s enjoyed a fun visit to Mr. Munby’s Senior Biology class. During the visit, the Hume School elementary students had an opportunity to explore, interact, and observe the various biology projects that the senior students had been involved in.

As a part of the evaluation of their projects, the senior biology students had to ensure they were interactive for the attending audience. The senior students had the added challenge of explaining their work and utilizing language that an elementary child could understand.

The elementary students immersed themselves in the experience and saw first-hand the way foundational skills they are learning today will set them up for learning in the future. Such a delight to continue to nurture the cross-school opportunities that avail themselves between Hume Elementary and LVR Secondary. Thanks for the experience LVR!
