Another successful Ice Cream Social is in the books — and what a fantastic evening it was! The Hume Elementary community came together in full force to enjoy one of our most cherished annual traditions.

The sun was shining, the ice cream was flowing, and the joy of connection was palpable across grades, families, and friends. This event continues to be a highlight of our school year — a time for laughter, play, and building relationships that strengthen our school community.

We are thrilled to share that over $5,000 was raised during the event! These funds go directly toward enriching the student experience at Hume — from field trips, an outdoor classroom, the Grade 5 year-end celebrations, playground replacement infrastructure, and our long-term goal of beautifying the green spaces available to students around the school through additional outdoor playground structures/spaces.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the many volunteers who made this event possible — parents, caregivers, Hume staff, Trafalgar and LVR student helpers, and our amazing Hume PAC. This event is a true team effort, and it would not be possible without your support year after year.

We want to give special recognition to Dee Nadeau, Ola Rogula, Anna Dulisse, Jennifer Jay, and Rajetta Bains for their above-and-beyond efforts in organizing this year’s event. Their commitment to carrying the torch of this historic tradition — which dates back to the 1980s — is so very impactful.

As we look ahead, we also want to acknowledge that one of our lead organizers will be stepping down next year. With the school communities help this event can carry forward for many years to come.
