Hume Elementary Celebrates World Kindness Day with Schoolwide Activities
On November 13th, Hume Elementary came together for a joyful and heartwarming celebration of World Kindness Day. Led by our Grade 4 and 5 Kindness Club, the school transformed into a vibrant hub of creativity, connection, and kindness-building activities designed to spread positivity throughout the entire community.
Students rotated through a variety of fun crafting stations, where they created: (something here). The halls buzzed with excitement as students took part in Kindness Bingo, eagerly completing challenges that encouraged friendly gestures, helping behaviours, and thoughtful words. Winners earned small prizes—but the real reward was the joy of making someone else smile.
One of the highlights of the day was the warm apple cider station, where every student and staff member was treated to a cozy cup of cider. This small gesture filled the school with both delicious aromas and a sense of belonging.
Throughout the day, the Kindness Club student leaders supported younger students, ran stations with confidence and enthusiasm, and modelled what it means to lead with heart. Their energy and dedication helped create a welcoming, uplifting atmosphere for everyone.
Hume Elementary extends a warm thank you to our incredible Kindness Club leaders for their creativity, care, and leadership. We also offer our heartfelt gratitude to the parent volunteers who helped run stations, prepare materials, and ensure every student had a meaningful experience. Your support continues to strengthen the spirit of community that makes Hume such a special place to learn and grow.
This celebration of World Kindness Day beautifully supported our school’s ongoing focus on the Circle of Courage—particularly the value of Belonging. By intentionally creating moments of connection and care, our students helped remind us that kindness isn’t just an event—it’s a way of being.
Hume looks forward to more student-led initiatives throughout the year as we continue nurturing a culture of kindness across our school community.
