Halloween 4 Hunger

This year Hume Elementary School staff and students participate in the annual Halloween for Hunger.  This initiative has the students and staff collecting food donations for the Nelson Food Cupboard in the weeks of Oct. 24th to November 4th.  

On November 7th, Hume students weighed all the food donations brought in by Hume families and the surrounding community.  The total weight of food donations this year was 1216 lbs.  This food along with donations made by other schools in the community is an important resouce for the Nelson Food Cupboard and helps them bridge the November to February months for community members needing this supoport.  

A thank you to all the classes who participated in this event.  A thank you to the students who helped to organize, weigh the food, and load onto parent vehicles. A thank you to parents who helped to collect, deliver and unload food at the Nelson Food Cupboard.
