Growing Our Future: Tree Planting at Hume Elementary
Hume Elementary is proud to celebrate a beautiful new addition to our school grounds — the planting of three majestic deciduous trees: a Red Oak, Sugar Maple, and Linden Tree. These trees now stand proudly adjacent to the gymnasium, bringing beauty, shade, and learning opportunities to our outdoor space for generations to come.
This meaningful project was made possible through the vision and dedication of the Hume Outdoor Committee, with special thanks to Emma Nassr, a Hume parent who generously contributed her time and energy to the purchasing of the trees and the planting process. A thank you to Geroma for their generous donation of the Sugar Maple.
We also extend our sincere gratitude to School District 8 for their support and approval of this Facilities Project Beautification Upgrade — a lasting investment in our school environment and community well-being. A thank you also to the ongoing contributions of the Parent Advisory Committee as they continue to stand behind, fundraise, and finance projects like these.
Together, we’re growing a greener, more inspiring place to learn and play!
