On January 24th, Hume Elementary hosted a district volleyball tournament for grade 4-6 students in the surrounding schools.  The energy, excitement, and fun in the Hume gymnasium was brilliant. Good vibes all around! Some excellent volleyball played along with students taking some big risks out there. 

A thank you to all the elementary schools that came out for the tournament: Hume, South Nelson, Brent Kennedy, Redfish, Blewett, St. Joseph's, Rosemont, Winlaw. There were 31 teams in the tournament and 327 students participated. Amazing!

Thank you to all the parents who came out to cheer on their kids and Hume alumni and volunteers who came out to referee the games.

A special thank you to Mr. Chirico and Mr. Hammerich for bringing together all the logistics and execution of the tournament. Thank you coaches for making it happen for your schools. 

Let's work together to continue celebrating elementary sports. Basketball is next up as a focus for all the schools.
