Cross-Country Running 2024-2025

 The annual Elementary Cross-Country Running Meet took place at Lakeside Park on October 18 with an outstanding turnout of over 450 students from grades 2-6 representing 11 private and public schools from Nelson and the surrounding area. This was one of the largest turnouts in recent years. Evidence of the great work athletic directors and teacher sponsors do to support interest in Elementary Sports. Everyone involved agreed it was tremendous to watch all the age groups run in such an inclusive and safe environment.  

A special thanks to Hume grade 4/5 teacher and athletic director Les Chirico, who helped to coordinate and host the event along with the support of athletic directors from St. Joseph’s and South Nelson Elementary School. A thank you to all the school coaches and staff who came out to support their runners. A shout-out to all the parents and volunteers who supported us in myriad ways.    

Volleyball will be the focus for elementary schools in January 2024. Information about volleyball will be sent out to students and families in November.
