Author Visitation - Tanya Lloyd Kyi (May 9th)
On Thursday, May 9th, the Hume Elementary School in collaboration with the Elephant Mountain Literary Festival (EMLF) committee was fortunate to host Vancouver author Tanya Lloyd Kyi in the Hume School Library. On May 9th, Tanya was at Hume School to deliver three presentations for students in Grades 1-5. The sessions enjoyed by students included the following:
Session #1: Grade 4 & 5 - Writing to Change the World
Session #2: Grade 3 & 4 - Storytelling Goes Green
Session #3: Grade 1 & 2 - Storytelling Goes Green
The sessions were engaging, informative, and fun for all the students. Tanya, shared about her writing process, where she gets ideas, and the elements of an engaging story.
A thank you to the Hume School PAC, who annually supports the financing for this wonderful initiative. A thank you also to Ms. Carter who brings this extraordinary opportunity to our school and others. We are so lucky to have her expertise, connections, and guidance.
